The Pasquale's sign remains but the building is gone

In February 2024—more than two years ago—the shuttered Pasquale’s restaurant on Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak was razed to make way for a Big Boy that will sell alcoholic beverages.

Since then, the lot has remained empty, raising questions about whether Big Boy still intends to follow through on its plans.

Sherrie Handrinos, a spokesperson for Big Boy, tells Deadline Detroit that the restaurant chain still plans to build on the Woodward site.

"We are currently working through the plans, and once I have everything set date-wise, I will absolutely let you know," she said in an email to Deadline Detroit.

Pasquale’s closed in 2019 after 65 years in business.
