U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain
Michigan GOP Congresswoman Lisa McClain said Thursday that she had no inside information when her husband in December bought between $100,000 and $250,000 in private stock in Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, the Detroit News reports.
NewsNation asked McClain whether she could assure the public that the purchase was not based on inside info. The purchase was made four weeks before the Pentagon announced it would be integrating Musk’s xAI into its products.
McClain tells NewsNation "100%" that she had no information. “Because if it was, we wouldn’t have bought 100,000 shares. We would’ve bought a heck of a lot more.”
