The prominent law firm of Dykema Gossett, one of the Renaissance Center's first tenants, is moving out to a new headquarters nearby, Crain's Detroit Business reports.

The firm, which has been in the RenCen since 1977, is moving the headquarters and about 100 attorneys and staff to One Kennedy Square at 777 Woodward in the heart of downtown Detroit.

The move is expected to happen by late summer.

General Motors, which owns the building, is supposed to move its headquarters to the new Hudson's site on Woodward Avenue. Though it's technically GM's headquarters, the real headquarters for GM is at the Warren Tech Center where far more white collar employees work.

Gilbert and GM are trying to figure out what to do with the RenCen.
